Wikipedia says that
"Forecasting is the process of making predictions of the future based on past and present data and most commonly by analysis of trends. A commonplace example might be estimation of some variable of interest at some specified future date..."
So, when we are looking at what the color trends for 2020 are, our best option is to look at what they were in 2019. I looked up the most popular colors used from 3 of the bigger image repositories, i.e. Shutterstock, Dreamstime, and Depositphotos. Shutterstock and Depositphotos had very similar findings whereas Dreamstime was very different. I did a bit of research myself, and have made an educated guess (from looking at other graphic trends for 2020, etc) that the colors below are the most accurate for 2020:
Depositphotos* sums up the palette of 2020 best by saying:
"NEON COLOR SHOCK - The bolder, the better is definitely the new motto for graphic designers. Cobalt blue, neon carrot, electric lime and many more striking colors being used to grab attention"
So, here, according to my best predictions, is how the color-scape of 2020 is going to look like (a bit like the '80s in my humble opinion):
